Production
Production is responsible for the cycle from product structure to a closed costing. Output is posted at planned cost right away, so products can be sold without waiting for the month to close, and the actual cost is calculated at period close.

What is included?
- Bill of materials with versions, loss rate, substitutes and by-products
- Production order: provide, transfer materials, start, release, close
- Provision table with shortages and replacement of a missing material right in the production order
- Output and defects: correctable or irreparable, defect decision, culprit and reason
- Two-stage cost: planned at output, actual at close
- Reports: program fulfillment, planned and actual materials, work in progress, defects, work done

Frequently asked questions
Is the warehouse needed for production?
Yes. A production order reserves and writes off materials, so the warehouse is required. The check is performed in A3.ID when the module is purchased.
When is the actual cost known?
Output is posted at planned cost right away. The actual cost is calculated at period close, and the deviation is split between stock and goods sold.
