Accounting that keeps the numbers right

The manufacturing cluster of the A3 ecosystem: movement of inventory and the production cycle from purchase to output.

Why is this one product?

Reserving material for a production order requires the warehouse, production and planning to see the same available quantity at the moment of the operation. With separate databases this becomes a distributed transaction, and that means race conditions, double reservations and mismatched balances.

That is why the cluster is built as one service with a shared data model. Modules are boundaries of access and billing, not of code and storage. A customer adds a module and gets new features on the same data.

The principles it is built on

  • Facts over convenience

Movements are immutable, balances are calculated. A correction is a reversal that references the original record, not an edited number.

  • Complexity on demand

Mode 1 and Mode 2 differ in the set of dimensions, not in algorithms. A small business does not pay for batches and cells.

  • Clear product boundaries

Accounting, HR, sales and contracts stay in their own products. The cluster exchanges events with them under a registry of contracts.

  • Five jurisdictions from the start

The organization’s country defines print forms and number and date formats. This is part of the architecture, not a later local version.

Geography

The cluster is designed for the five countries where the ecosystem operates. The differences between them are covered by print form templates, currencies and rounding settings, not by separate builds of the product.

Countries and forms

Part of the A3 ecosystem

A3.Solutions develops related business products: accounting, HR, sales, document management, security and legal. They share sign-in, organizations, file storage and document signing, so connecting a second product does not start from scratch.
